Diagnosis: Resilient
Who I Am
An OCR (obstacle course racing) athlete who is trying to use her jogging powers for good
Are you frustrated because social media has exposed you to see these super athletes... with their chiseled abs, their gourmet meal preps, perfect training sessions,
but wait,
no need for an actual job?
It's awesome to be inspired by people who dedicate their life to training and fitness! That takes a heck of a lot of willpower. But not everyone can afford to only eat, sleep and train. Not everyone can hire a personal trainer. Not everyone can drop, school, work, and parenting responsibilities to hit the gym for 3 hour sessions. The central purpose of this blog is to make fitness (and even training for fitness competitions!) accessible to people in all different situations. Got kids? Got a full time job? In school? I gotchu.
I am a first year OCR athlete. I have podium'd (meaning I placed in 1st, 2nd, or 3rd) in 4 races in the past year. However, in that same year I was also a full-time teacher and a full-time graduate student. I even volunteered for a special community (more of that will unfold as the blog continues). It isn't easy, but it is entirely possible. And just like the cliche saying goes, "If I can do it - you can too."
